Frontier STEM Microgrant

Frontier STEM Hub Microgrants

STEM Hub Microgrants are awarded to fund equity focused, quality STEM-related projects or initiatives that will have a lasting impact

Funds up to $1,000 can be requested for your project. Description of allocation of funds will be a part of the application process. There is a required After Action report that can be viewed here.

Teachers and administrators may apply. Grants will be reviewed by a selection committee, using a scoring matrix. (See below) First round closes December 5, 2024.

This opportunity is open to any educator or administrator in Malheur County preK-12.

Selection Criteria

Grants will be selected based on the following:

Ensuring Equity

(40%)

Does the idea expand access to STEM experiences to historically under-represented populations. Depending on your school, this could be defined by gender, ethnicity, or rural

Expanding Quality STEM Experiences

(25%)

Does the idea build on what is already provided at your school? Is there a potential to expand the idea to other students? Does it bring a completely new experience to students?

Potential for Lasting Impact

 (20%)

We know microgrants can only go so far in terms of having a lasting impact. However, those that are designed with such impact in mind will be given preference.

Cost Effectiveness

(15%)

Funding is limited, so asking for the right amount is important. Asking for too little to pursue the project or too much (in hopes that you'll get a partial amount) will both work against you.
